The principle: 2 press-stud attachments on implants
Two small press-stud attachments are fixed onto two discreet implants placed in the bone. The denture clips onto these anchors: it is stable and does not move while you chew or speak, yet it can still be taken out for cleaning.
On average, every 6 months a single appointment is all it takes to readjust the press-studs.
The stages
- Making the denture in the usual way, over 4 to 6 weeks.
- Placing the implants: a painless procedure under local anaesthetic, at the practice.
- A 6-month wait for healing and bone integration.
- Fitting the press-stud attachments to the implants: the denture is stable again.
